The struggle is real for makeup at KCON.
If you’re going to wear makeup for the convention, you need a look that’s going to last the whole day and look good from your early morning while waiting in lines all day, until you’re screaming along with your fellow fans at a late night concert.

Thankfully, Korean makeup brands are designed for people with just that kind of on-the-go lifestyle, one with all kinds of events packed into one day. Stick to a routine like this one, and you’ll be looking your best throughout the event.
Don’t mess around with too much more than a CC cushion compact. It’s full coverage that goes on without being too cakey or oily, lasts forever, and provides you with tons of sun protection. This one from AmorePacific is universally loved by the beauty world.
That should last you all day, but it’s easy to throw in a purse if you want to do a re-up later (plus, then you’ll have a mirror to help with your transition to night later.) For a little extra traction, though, Banila Co. can help you out. Put on a primer before the CC cream to minimize pores and help it go on smoothly, and then top it off with a finishing powder that will minimize oil and help it stay in place even longer.
Rather than worrying about eye shadow creasing or being a bit too smoky for a walk around an extremely well-lit conference center, put all the vavoom into your lashes. Too Cool For School’s Dinoplatz Escalator Mascara’s dual-action wand is great for both volume and curls, helping to lift and lengthen even normally stubborn lashes. With a few careful swipes of this stuff, you won’t need to worry about any other eye makeup for the day.
Peripera Peri’s Lip Tint Water is your friend for long days. As curious as the name sounds, it really does match the description: this is a product that goes on super watery (don’t be alarmed if it drips a little; you can easily wipe it off), but dries quickly to a gorgeous tint of color. It’s not overpowering, and it doesn’t give you the heavy look of product like even a mild shade of a matte lip or gloss would. Plus, it truly lasts all day.
Transition to Night:
The easiest and quickest way to do this is to grab a bold lip color like one from Etude House’s Dear My Wish Lips line. It’s a rich, creamy formula that comes in a bunch of great colors and will stay on all night.
Your other trick is to grab a few of the super versatile Crayon Extremes from Moonshot. With just one or two of these in your purse, you can get really creative. A shade like “Jenny’s Hair” can be used as a highlighter to add a little life to your cheeks as well as a light lip color. You could also bring along a deeper blue, green, or purple and use it as a bold eye liner or shadow. They’re super small and easy to apply, so you don’t have to worry about wasting time
Above all, remember that you’ll look fantastic no matter what, and have fun at KCON LA!
